Technical checks before the TV is mounted
We start with the wall and the bracket. Wood studs, solid concrete, and concrete block all support a TV mount differently. Drywall alone is not enough. The mount also needs to match the TV size, weight rating, and VESA pattern, and we measure the bolt pattern instead of guessing based on screen size.
- Match the bracket to the TV size, weight rating, and VESA pattern.
- Measure the bolt pattern instead of relying on screen size alone.
- Check outlet position and cable route before choosing a low-profile wall mount.
- Use a solid wall perpendicular to the floor, not a ceiling or slanted wall.
- Leave at least 4 inches of ventilation clearance around the television set.
